Said Abousahl

Said Abousahl is since 2014, the Unit Head of Euratom Coordination at the European Commission – Joint Research Centre Headquarters in Brussels. The unit coordinates the JRC Euratom programmes research and training and also decommissioning as well as relations with the European Union institutions on nuclear issues, Euratom international agreements on fission R&D, including Generation IV International Forum.
From 1998 to 2006, he worked at the Institute for Transuranium Elements in Karlsruhe and held the position of Sector Head of Analytical Services, which provides support to nuclear safety, waste management, safeguards and security projects.
From 1986 to 1990 he prepared a PhD at the Commissariat à l’Energie Atomique, in Saclay, France in the field of radioactive waste management. In March 1990, he got his PhD from the university of Pierre & Marie Curie, Paris, France.
