STUDENT COMPETITION – PhD/MSc Awards

The FISA 2019 and EURADWASTE ‘19 Programme Committee will be organising its first Student Competition. PhD and Master Students are encouraged to submit their proposed abstract related to the dedicated topics of the conferences.

OPEN CALL – POSTER COMPETITION – PhD/MSc Awards

Interested students should submit their abstract (up to 400 words) and paper in English through the FISA 2019 and EURADWASTE ‘19 Abstract/ Paper Submission System under the category ‘Student Competition’.

The FISA 2019 and EURADWASTE ‘19 Programme Committee will pre-select 25 contributions to be presented in the international Research Community by participating to the ‘FISA 2019 and EURADWASTE ‘19 Poster and PhD/MSc Awards’. Pre-selected students will receive financial support to cover travel and hotel expenses.

Selected students will be asked to present their work in form of a poster at the conferences.

FISA 2019 and EURADWASTE ‘19 Programme Committee will vote during the conferences for their favourite student poster presentations and award the best 5 posters. The quality of the research presented as well as the accuracy and clarity of the poster presentation will be the selection criteria at stake.

Awarded students will be invited to present a compelling spoken presentation of their research topic to the international Research Community during the closing Plenary Session of FISA 2019 and EURADWASTE ‘19. Inspired by existing Three-Minute Thesis competitions, the presentation should compress the research topic into 180 seconds, and communicate it to the international Research Community. The presentation can be accompanied with a maximum of three presentation slides, but this is not compulsory.

Awarded PhD/MSc students will furthermore have the possibility to submit a paper to the European Physical Journal – Nuclear (EPN-J) for publication.
