Biography
- She obtained in 1986 her Degree in International Economic Relations at the National and World Economy University in Sofia.
- She has over 15 years experience in the Bulgarian public administration (Director for European Integration), including as Minister Counselor at the Permanent Representation in Brussels, dealing with agriculture, rural development, fisheries and food safety.
- In 2009 she joined the European Commission (DG Regional and Urban Policy) where she held responsibilities for the implementation of the Structural and Investments Funds in Northern and Southern Europe, urban and territorial policies, smart, sustainable and inclusive growth investments.
- She was appointed Deputy Director General of the Joint Research Centre (JRC) in 2016 with responsibilities for the thematic and cross-cutting knowledge production in support of the EU policy initiatives.
