Biography
She obtained her Doctoral degree in Chemistry with a specialisation in environmental, instrumental and radiochemistry, from the University of Pisa in 1984.
During the last twenty-eight years she has been serving the European Commission and the United Nations – always dealing with issues relevant to nuclear technologies, applications and research.
After having been director at the U.N. and at the EC-JRC Institute for Environment and Sustainability she is as 1st July 2016 Director G Nuclear Safety and Security and Director of the JRC Karlsruhe site. The Directorate G regroups – across four different geographical sites – all the nuclear activities of the JRC.
